Karen is an attorney in the firm’s Finance Group. Her practice focuses on real estate and real estate-based finance matters. She has extensive experience in the representation of lenders and borrowers in association with real estate and asset-based lending and single family rental securitizations, including loan documentation and negotiation, supervision of loan closings and due diligence processes, and loan assumptions both individually and pools. She has significant experience in commercial mortgage-backed securities, including representing loan sellers and issuers in representations and warranties compliance, disclosure and other matters related to the aggregation of loans for securitization. Karen has assisted lending and servicing clients with loan workouts and foreclosures. In addition, she routinely represents clients in various areas relating to real estate, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, both as tenant and landlord, and construction-related matters, including the negotiation of related agreements and property related due diligence.

Karen was recognized as a Texas Rising Star by Texas Monthly in 2009 and 2010.
