Katherine J. Santon

Kate Santon is an attorney in Dorsey’s trial department and international group. She represents clients in complex business litigation and arbitration throughout the United States and internationally. Ms. Santon advises clients regarding high-profile disputes, strategic legal matters, and with respect to the defense of significant overseas litigation. Her international practice focuses on project and infrastructure development disputes and foreign direct investment disputes. She also represents clients in complex commercial litigation, including disputes related to antitrust law, unfair business practices, trade secrets, and privacy and cybersecurity law.

Ms. Santon also counsels a wide variety of clients on data privacy compliance for state, domestic, and foreign regulators, including advertising and marketing, data protection, Safe Harbor certification, electronic and mobile commerce and risk assessment. She has also advised clients with respect to data breaches implicating state privacy laws, federal laws, and HIPAA/HITECH Act, including conducting investigations and determining whether notifications to individuals and regulators is warranted. She is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US).

Ms. Santon is a member of the firm's International Arbitration and Litigation, Antitrust and Competition Law, and Privacy and Social Media Groups.

In addition to her work with Dorsey & Whitney, Ms. Santon gained extensive trial experience while serving as a Deputy District Attorney through the Orange County District Attorney Trial Attorney Partnership program.
