Ken Kroot is a litigator and corporate lawyer who is a member of the firm’s Complex Litigation, Technology Litigation and Class Action Practices, and also supports the firm’s Corporate and Real Estate Practices. He recently returned to the firm after nearly a decade with Equity LifeStyle Properties, Inc., a publicly traded real estate company (NYSE: ELS), where among other roles he served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to the Board of Directors (chaired by Sam Zell), and supervised the Legal, Human Resources and Risk Management Departments. Before that, he was a litigator and trial lawyer at the firm for over 20 years.

While at ELS, Mr. Kroot worked on and directed all aspects of corporate law, including among others real estate portfolio acquisitions and dispositions, capital market transactions, SEC matters, commercial transactions, litigation, regulatory investigations, and insurance. While previously at the firm, he acted as lead counsel in numerous trials and litigation matters, focusing on technology-related intellectual property, trade secret, mass tort, products liability, insurance coverage, and class action cases, as well as financial, antitrust, employment and other commercial disputes.
