Kenneth Chang is the Office Managing Partner of the Kilpatrick Townsend Shanghai Office. Mr. Chang focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation and counseling. For more than 10 years he has been counseling and representing Chinese and other Asian clients in patent and other IP litigation as well as negotiating settlements and license agreements on behalf of those companies. Mr. Chang’s experience in Asia and his relationships with foreign law firms further the interests of his U.S. and European-based clients with business or litigation interests in Asia. He has extensive experience litigating matters concerning semiconductor processing and equipment, circuitry design, software, and medical devices both in Federal Court and before the U.S. International Trade Commission.
Prior to law school, Mr. Chang was a research associate at the University of Texas Health Science Center, developing skills in DNA and protein analysis, working with transgenic models, and conducting research in cardiovascular shock and mechanisms of vascular dilation/constriction. Following his undergraduate education, Mr. Chang also worked with the United States Air Force examining the physiological effects of exposure to radiofrequency radiation.
Originally from Colorado, Mr. Chang has been appointed a Special Prosecutor to prosecute criminal cases on behalf of the City and County of Denver. Mr. Chang was named one of Denver's "40 Under 40" by the Denver Business Journal, and a 2011 "SuperLawyer” in intellectual property litigation by Super Lawyers magazine. Mr. Chang sits on the Trinity University National Alumni Board and on the Board of Advisors to the Center of Advance Study & Research on Intellectual Property at the University of Washington College of Law.
