Kimberly T. Smith is a partner and co-head of Katten's nationwide Private Equity practice. She has extensive experience leading complex transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations, divestitures, joint ventures and investments at all stages of a company's life cycle. She also provides advice to executives in compensation and equity-related matters.

Kim advises clients from a wide range of industries, including distribution and manufacturing, health care, business services, technology and financial services. Kim has represented a variety of companies, including ATI Physical Therapy, Baird Capital, Beecken Petty O'Keefe & Company, Boathouse Capital, D4C Dental Brands, Frontenac Company, Pfingsten Partners, Syclo, Tribeca Enterprises and Victory Park Capital.

During law school, Kim served on the editorial board of the American Criminal Law Review and published an article that was cited by the US Supreme Court. She is a founding member of the guild board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago.
