Kobi Kennedy Brinson is a partner in Winston & Strawn LLP’s Charlotte office in the Litigation Department who focuses her practice on defending financial services and other clients in government regulatory enforcement inquiries and investigations, as well as class action litigation. Ms. Brinson has spent more than 20 years defending corporate clients as both in-house counsel for some of the nation’s largest financial institutions and as outside counsel to corporate clients nationwide.

Prior to joining Winston, Kobi was Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Bank of America where she coordinated Bank of America’s response to consumer regulatory enforcement actions from prudential and other regulators, including the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), Department of Justice (DOJ), and state Attorneys General. She also directed responsive strategy for significant litigation and lawsuit-driven media inquiries for Bank of America’s Retail and Business Banking including mortgage lending and deposit related litigation for Bank of America and its legacy entities, including Countrywide Home Loans, Inc.

Prior to her time at Bank of America, Ms. Brinson managed consumer lending defensive litigation for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel. Prior to the Wells Fargo merger, she led Wachovia’s Specialty Finance Litigation Unit which handled mortgage lending-related class actions and individual lawsuits across the United States, as well as litigation arising out of the credit card, education, and auto finance lines of business.
