Kristine Blackwood works with clients to help them navigate challenging healthcare policy issues. She is able to draw upon her deep public sector experience at the US Department of Health and Human Services, the US Department of Justice, and key House and Senate Committees, as well as her time spent in private practice.
Ms. Blackwood most recently served as Deputy Director for Congressional Oversight and Investigations at HHS, where she was responsible for developing strategic responses to Congressional oversight and investigations for the Office of the Secretary on Affordable Care Act (ACA) implementation, as well as other HHS programs. Prior to that, she served as Chief Counsel for the Senate Special Committee on Aging, and Investigative Counsel at the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. Ms. Blackwood also spent more than a decade with the DOJ, serving as Attorney-Advisor for the Office of Legislative Affairs; as national healthcare fraud coordinator for the Executive Office for US Attorneys; and as an Assistant US Attorney for the Central District of California for more than nine years.
