Kurt J. Krueger

Kurt focuses his practice on working with public and private, closely held corporations, as well as partnerships and limited liability companies. He advises management on securities, governance and executive compensation issues, as well as mergers and acquisitions and shareholder/ownership disputes. He also represents borrowers and lenders in connection with corporate financing transactions ranging from traditional loan agreements with financial institutions to public and private offerings of debt and equity securities. Kurt represents several large non-profits advising them on corporate and board governance issues as well as tax and financing issues.

He also has extensive experience working with Virginia public authorities and their boards, with a focus on multi-jurisdictional authorities. He advises authorities on governance, Virginia Freedom of Information Act, Virginia Conflicts of Interests Act, Virginia Public Procurement Act and contractual matters, easement and condemnation matters, as well as cost-allocation, capacity and local government support agreements.

Kurt has significant experience representing secured and unsecured creditors in Chapter 11 and Chapter 7 proceedings, as well as workouts and non-bankruptcy corporate finance matters, including commercial and real estate loan work for financial institutions and other lenders.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Kurt served as a staff member for U.S. Senator John C. Danforth.
