La Toya Sutton is an associate in Manatt’s Advertising, Marketing & Media Division, resident in the firm’s Washington, D.C., office. She advises clients on a broad range of legal and compliance issues related to consumer advertising and product claim substantiation. Her expertise surrounds the marketing and promotion of products subject to the overlapping jurisdictions of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC), such as foods, dietary supplements, cosmetics, drugs, and medical devices. She also has significant experience defending and initiating disputes before the Council of Better Business Bureaus’ National Advertising Division (NAD) and Electronic Retailing Self-Regulation Program (ERSP). Ms. Sutton also advises clients on matters involving the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other federal and state agencies.
