Lawrence T. Humphrey is a partner in the Atlanta office of Barnes & Thornburg LLP and is a member of the Corporate and Real Estate Departments. Mr. Humphrey is a transactional attorney with broad experience in a variety of corporate, real estate, and technology transactions.

Mr. Humphrey has nearly 20 years of experience representing companies and individuals in commercial transactions and real estate matters including asset purchase agreements, supply chain agreements, software license agreements, mergers and acquisitions, real estate purchases, sales, financings and related construction agreements, leases, and telecommunications access agreements. Mr. Humphrey handled the majority of the legal work for a major client for the acquisition, development and financing of a corporate headquarters campus that has grown to approximately 2,000,000 square feet of completed and under-construction office space. Mr. Humphrey also counsels select high net worth clients on their personal legal matters.

Prior to joining Barnes & Thornburg, Mr. Humphrey was a partner with Dow Lohnes PLLC and Wargo & French LLP.

In addition to his private practice, Mr. Humphrey represented Communities in Schools of Atlanta, Inc. as its pro bono counsel for nearly 10 years. In that role, he counseled and assisted the board of directors and executive director of Communities in School in Atlanta on a wide range of corporate governance, operational, financial, and labor and employment issues.

After earning his B.S.E. from Duke University, Mr. Humphrey earned his M.B.A. from the University of South Carolina. He earned his J.D. from the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Order of the Coif, Phi Kappa Phi and the Georgia Law Review.

Mr. Humphrey is admitted to practice in the state of Georgia.
