Lee Armstrong has represented clients around the world in cases involving banking, securities, mergers, intellectual property, construction, employment law, and various business torts. He has enjoyed success as lead trial counsel in jury and bench trials in many jurisdictions.
Lee is commonly called on to represent clients in the most complicated and significant business matters. For example, he was one of the lead lawyers defending financial institutions in the massive securities class action litigation relating to the collapse of Enron. He also was one of the lead trial lawyers representing Chrysler LLC in its bankruptcy and sale of assets, a 42-day historic effort that involved multiple evidentiary hearings and appellate practice. He has acted as lead counsel in several high-profile trademark cases, including the defense of LUKOIL in an action by Lucas Oil and the defense of Citizens Financial, securing a trial verdict and successfully arguing the appeal before the 6th Circuit. Some of Lee's other high-profile cases include the defense of movie producers at the highly publicized jury trial involving Woody Allen, which settled after two weeks of trial, and an employment litigation jury verdict in favor of famed jewelry company Harry Winston.
Along with cases involving trade secrets, intellectual property, accounting, and construction, Lee is presently involved in several matters arising out of the financial crisis (including various structured finance products and loan workouts). Lee is the administrative partner for the New York Office.
