Linda M. Doyle

Linda M. Doyle is a partner in the law firm of McDermott Will & Emery LLP and is based in the Firm’s Chicago office. She focuses her practice on all aspects of employment-related litigation. Linda’s trial experience includes class actions and single plaintiff matters related to:

Wage and hour issues
Employment discrimination
Harassment
Wrongful termination
Executive compensation
Benefits
Non-competition agreements, trade secrets, and unfair competition
Whistle-blower claims under state law, Sarbanes-Oxley and the False Claims Act

Linda negotiates labor contracts on behalf of employers, represents employers in arbitrations under collective bargaining agreements, in proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and the Department of Labor and in union organizing campaigns. Linda also counsels employers on employment issues and conducts training sessions for employees and management.

Linda co-authored “Domestic-Partner Benefit Plans Raise Legal Issues,” published by the National Law Journal and “Outside the Title VII Bubble: Other Theories of Employment Liability,” published by the American Bar Association. She also serves as a Chapter Editor for “How To Take a Case Before The NLRB,” published by BNA.

Linda is a frequent lecturer on employment-related issues and is frequently quoted in the national media on employment-related issues.

Linda was named a 2007 Illinois Super Lawyer and is ranked in the 2008 and 2010 editions of Chambers USA as one of America’s Leading Lawyers for Business.

Linda serves as national hiring partner for the Firm.

Prior to entering law school, Linda served for five years as a labor relations consultant to the Motor Carrier Labor Advisory Council where she negotiated labor contracts for management with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, Chauffeurs, Warehousemen and Helpers of America, AFL-CIO and United Auto Workers of America, throughout the country. She also served as a consultant to management on labor issues.

During law school, Linda earned the Robert S. Feldman Labor Law Award. Linda is a member of the Litigation and Labor and Employment Law Sections of the American Bar Association, and is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania and Illinois.
