Lisa Laukitis focuses her practice on the representation of corporations in out-of-court restructurings and chapter 11 bankruptcies. Her practice also includes the representation of secured and unsecured creditors and private equity funds in restructuring matters. Additionally, Lisa has represented clients in connection with distressed mergers and acquisitions as well as various financing arrangements. She has litigated disputes related to the use of cash collateral, DIP financing, sales under section 363 of the Bankruptcy Code, modification of labor agreements and retiree benefits, and plan confirmation.
Lisa's experience spans several industries, including automotive, general manufacturing, promotional products, energy, telecommunications, cable, retail, and shipping. She represented Hostess Brands and Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Markets in each of their chapter 11 cases, Penton Media in its prepackaged chapter 11 case, Cleveland Unlimited in its out of court restructuring, and various private equity and hedge funds in connection with their investments in distressed companies. Prior to joining Jones Day, Lisa focused on the representation of such corporate debtors as Allegiance Telecom, The Boyds Collection, Norwood Promotional Products, NRG Energy, Pierre Foods, Tower Automotive, and Trico Marine Services.
Lisa is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute and Turnaround Management Association. She previously served as a member of the Committee on Bankruptcy and Corporate Reorganization of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. Lisa is a member of the Lincoln Center Business Council and a member of the board of directors of the Lower East Side Girls Club.
