Lisa K. Shebar serves as trademark counsel to clients in whatever contexts their trademark matters arise. She advises and represents clients in all aspects of trademark law, predominantly in federal court and in the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Lisa prosecutes trademark applications and handles trademark opposition, cancellation, and appeal proceedings. She also handles domain name dispute proceedings under the Uniform Domain-Name Dispute-Resolution Policy.

Before joining Schiff Hardin, Lisa gained invaluable experience as both in-house and outside counsel. She served as Senior Counsel in the Marketing Practices Group of the Law Department of Sears, Roebuck and Co., where she handled a wide variety of transactional and adversarial intellectual property matters, oversaw a portfolio of more than 1,000 trademarks, and engaged extensively in client counseling. Lisa also spent over two decades in various roles—including associate and partner—with a large Chicago-based international law firm. She started her own practice as well, representing both individual and business clients (including McDonald’s Corporation in all aspects of its global retail trademark licensing). Lisa began her career as an associate at a Dallas-based litigation boutique firm, where she learned the fundamentals of complex litigation and courtroom advocacy.
