LIVIA KISER, partner in Sidley’s Chicago office, practices in the firm’s Complex Commercial Litigation group. Liv is an accomplished litigator who focuses on all aspects of risk management and dispute resolution in connection with the marketing and sale of products and services.

Liv’s litigation practice focuses primarily on complex class action defense, with particular experience in consumer fraud actions. In the automotive industry, Liv routinely represents domestic and foreign automobile manufacturers and distributors in disputes arising under consumer protection statutes and other laws. She has a wealth of experience defending class action lawsuits in which false and misleading advertising and other deceptive consumer practices arising from purported product defects and/or deficiencies are alleged.

Liv also has substantial experience defending retailers, grocers, producers, handlers and private label manufacturers in class actions arising from marketing and selling specialty food products, nutritional supplements and personal care products (including organic, natural, healthy and other wellness claims).

Liv also routinely defends class claims brought under the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and other state and federal privacy laws.

Liv counsels clients on compliance with electronic discovery demands in litigation and governmental investigations, providing strategic advice concerning how to satisfy (sometimes overlapping) demands for documents and information. She is quite knowledgeable about how to capture efficiencies while devising defensible technologies, protocols, processes and methodologies.

Liv has been selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2015 and 2016) in the field of Consumer Law.
