Lloyd Winans is a member of Dentons’ Global Banking and Finance practice leadership and serves as co-chair of Dentons' US Banking and Finance practice. He provides regulatory advice to domestic and foreign banking and non-banking financial entities operating in the US, with respect to such matters as regulatory structures; powers; product offerings and investments; regulatory relations; and regulatory compliance, including with the Bank Holding Company Act, the International Banking Act and the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act. He has extensive experience in examination management and enforcement matters before the banking agencies. His transactional practice concentrates on alternative finance, including trade finance, equipment leasing and finance, factoring, merchant cash advances, virtual currency and microfinance. He also has extensive experience handling inbound and outbound business transactions, financing and investment in Latin America and the Caribbean.
Lloyd previously served as: Counsel to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta; Group Counsel to Citibank's Latin American Consumer Bank; and Lehman Brothers' General Counsel to Lehman Brothers Bank, FSB, Lehman Brothers Commercial Bank, and Lehman Brothers Latin American Resort Lending business.
Lloyd serves on the International Advisory Board of the Association of Caribbean Corporate Counsel. He is the founder and co-chair of the American Bar Association Business Law Section's Latin American Law Subcommittee. He previously served as chair of the Business Law Section's International Business Law Committee, as vice chair of the International Law Section’s Latin American and Caribbean Committee and as co-chair of the International Section’s International Financial Services and Products Committee.
