Lou Cohen is of counsel with Foley & Lardner LLP where he focuses his practice on commercial real estate development, including acquisitions and dispositions, development, venture structuring and formation, leasing, lending, restructuring and workouts. His experience includes working with international and U.S. lenders, developers, REITs, public pension funds, pension fund advisors, insurance companies and governmental entities in transactional real estate matters.

Prior to joining Foley, Mr. Cohen was a partner with another international law firm where he served as chair of their finance and real estate department. In addition, he was chairman of a prior international firm’s Chicago real estate practice and led the local office as managing partner. Mr. Cohen has been lead counsel for some of the largest real estate transactions, including representing the owner and redeveloper of the Chicago Soho House Club and representing the City of Atlanta in connection with negotiations leading to the development of the $1.4 billion stadium for the Atlanta Falcons.
