Brett Johnson is a litigation partner in the firm’s Dallas office. He prides himself on learning a client’s business and conducting cases in a way that is consistent with the client’s overall business objectives. His practice emphasizes all aspects of complex commercial and intellectual property litigation, including patent, trademark, trade secret, and unfair competition.

Mr. Johnson has obtained favorable litigation/arbitration results for clients including Mark Cuban, the Dallas Mavericks, Bank of America, and Sabre, Inc. Mr. Johnson is experienced in litigation matters before Federal District Courts, the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, Delaware District Courts, and Texas state trial and appellate courts, including the Texas Supreme Court, and arbitration matters before the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Johnson has been lead counsel for multiple joint defense groups in IP and non-IP related litigations and represented Fortune 100 firms, as well as small family-owned companies. He has tried more than 25 cases in federal and state courts and defended numerous clients in commercial class actions.

Mr. Johnson has prior experience serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul Brown at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas and is currently married to U.S. Magistrate Judge Kimberly Johnson of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
