Marc J. Shanker is an associate in Morgan Lewis’s Litigation Practice. Mr. Shanker has a wide range of commercial litigation experience and provides counsel in litigation, internal investigations, and enforcement proceedings. He has represented financial, technology, healthcare, and industrial companies in matters involving allegations of violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA), the False Claims Act, healthcare fraud, securities fraud, and a variety of other offenses. Mr. Shanker routinely represents corporate and individual clients before the U.S. Department of Justice, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other state and federal agencies.

Mr. Shanker also has experience conducting internal investigations and counseling clients on the development and implementation of internal compliance and ethics programs, involving work in more than 20 countries around the world.

Mr. Shanker is a member of the firm’s class action and commercial litigation steering committees. He also participated in the firm's Trial Advocacy Program, spending six months as a Special Assistant District Attorney in the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn where he successfully tried several cases.

Mr. Shanker earned his J.D., with honors, from George Washington University Law School in 2002. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern for Judge Ricardo M. Urbina of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Mr. Shanker earned his B.A., summa cum laude, in economics and Spanish from Emory University in 1999, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Mr. Shanker is admitted to practice in New York and before the U.S. District Courts for the Southern, Eastern, and Western Districts of New York.
