Marc S. Blackman

Marc Blackman represents clients in high-stakes patent infringement cases in federal courts throughout the country as well as in the International Trade Commission. Marc handles cases involving complex technology, such as computer hardware and software, semiconductor structures and fabrication, mobile devices, digital cameras, image sensors, flash memory, and other consumer electronics products.

Marc has substantial experience litigating cases involving multiple patents and defendants to successful results. For example, he recently obtained summary judgment of non-infringement for Nikon in a multidistrict litigation involving infringement allegations against Nikon and numerous other camera manufacturers regarding the communication between digital cameras and computers. In addition, Marc represented Texas Instruments in a five-patent infringement action before the ITC relating to digital signal processors. The case settled after the ITC granted summary determination of non-infringement for TI as to one of the accused product families. Marc also favorably settled a case on behalf of Kyocera after successful motion practice narrowed the scope of the case alleging infringement of three patents relating to image sensor technology.

Marc frequently represents Japanese clients, such as Kyocera, Nikon, and Sharp. Other representative clients include Fisher-Price, Freescale Semiconductor, IBM, Limited Brands, Motorola, Nokia, SanDisk, and Texas Instruments.
