Marc Campopiano is a partner in the Environment, Land & Resources Department. Mr. Campopiano has extensive experience on a wide variety of energy and infrastructure matters related to power generation (including broad experience with renewable energy resources), transmission lines, land use entitlements, air quality and water quality permitting and compliance, cleantech, and environmental diligence and transaction review. Mr. Campopiano represents clients with major energy and infrastructure projects before federal agencies, state public utility commissions and energy agencies, including the California Public Utilities Commission and the California Energy Commission, and local jurisdictions to develop power plants, transmission lines, renewable energy facilities and land use projects.
Mr. Campopiano parlays his strong technical background with extensive legal experience to deliver specialized representation on energy and infrastructure matters where legal and technical issues can be closely intertwined. Mr. Campopiano previously worked as an environmental consultant evaluating power plants, transmission lines and other infrastructure projects under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
Mr. Campopiano regularly works on projects that involve local, state and federal regulatory requirements. In addition to Mr. Campopiano’s extensive experience with local and state environmental laws, Mr. Campopiano regularly advises clients on federal requirements under the federal Endangered Species Act, Migratory Bird Treaty Act, National Historic Preservation Act, Clean Air Act and Clean Water Act.
