Manage the legal department, which is responsible for working with market participants to find solutions to new and unique regulatory issues, briefing Commissioners on regulatory matters in uncontested proceedings, working with legislators seeking assistance in drafting language for legislation, managing outside FERC attorneys for matters before FERC and participating as a party in contested cases before the State Office of Administrative Hearings and the Commission. The PUCT has regulatory authority as provided by statute over the electric, telecommunications and water industries.
