Mark E. Anderson

Mark Anderson is a trial lawyer who focuses on bringing a broad range of complex cases to jury verdict. His varied client base includes both commercial entities and healthcare practitioners and institutions involved in a variety of litigation matters. He has developed a reputation for taking on complicated cases and preparing them successfully for trial by jury.

Mark began his career handling jury trials throughout the state of North Carolina, mentored by some of the state’s finest trial lawyers. Originally focusing on the malpractice arena, he has expanded his practice to include product liability, commercial disputes, financial contracts, toxic torts, mass torts, insurance coverage, fire and explosion, and vehicular accidents, working individual witnesses and using their stories to prepare hundreds of cases for trial.

Mark serves as managing partner of the firm's Raleigh office and is a member of the firm’s Board of Partners. In addition to his North Carolina license, he is a member of the New York State Bar. With client engagements becoming more national in scope, he works out of both the firm’s Raleigh and New York offices.

An active member of his local community, Mark contributes a significant amount of his time to educational organizations. He has served two terms on the Board of Trustees of Durham Academy, the K through 12 school attended by his four children. He was also a founding director of Durham Nativity School, an institution dedicated to educating middle school boys from financially challenged families. Currently, he serves as a board member of Student U, a collaborative organization providing services for students from the summer before they enter sixth grade until their high school graduation.

Mark’s litigation achievements have been recognized by numerous accolades. He has been inducted into both the American College of Trial Lawyers and the American Board of Trial Advocates and will be inducted into the International Academy of Trial Lawyers this year. He has twice been selected by Chambers USA for inclusion in its list of America's Leading Lawyers for Business, and in 2008 and again in 2014 he was named as one of the Top 100 Attorneys in North Carolina by Law & Politics. In 2012 Best Lawyers named him Raleigh Lawyer of the Year for Professional Malpractice Law – Defendants.
