Mark Rotatori is a trial lawyer with extensive experience handling complex, multijurisdiction, and class action litigation. He has won bench and jury trials in the areas of energy, tax, contract disputes, and consumer fraud litigation. He also has significant experience in defending product liability and breach of warranty cases involving pharmaceuticals, medical devices, and workplace chemicals.
On behalf of Bridgestone/Firestone, Mark obtained a multimillion dollar verdict against the IRS in Nashville federal court. He currently serves as Illinois counsel for the Expedia brands in their pending state and local tax cases. Mark is also a member of the advisory committee for the Taxpayer's Federation of Illinois.
Another major focus of Mark's practice is litigating product liability cases for companies, including those in the business of manufacturing pharmaceuticals, medical devices, chemicals, and medical foods. He has represented Abbott Laboratories in its pharmaceutical and medical foods catastrophic injury cases, Brush Wellman in workplace toxic exposure cases, and Mentor Corporation in its medical device cases.
In addition, Mark has represented energy and water companies, including producers and transmitters of coal bed methane gas, electricity, and natural gas in disputes over service, rates, contracts, and leases. These companies include Ameren, BPI Energy, Illinois-American Water, and Oklahoma Gas & Electric.
Mark also works in the education sector where he focuses on both litigation and counseling for clients. In the Chicago Office, Mark coordinates pro bono matters involving students in need of special education services, and he has written extensively on various Department of Education regulations.
