Martha L. Steele

Martha’s practice focuses on commercial litigation with an emphasis on toxic tort and product liability disputes. Martha currently serves as local and national counsel for Big Three automobile manufacturer in cases involving alleged exposure to asbestos and asbestos-containing products. In that role, Martha coordinates and supports the defense of hundreds of personal injury and wrongful death claims in Virginia and throughout the United States.

Martha also has significant experience in the areas of electronic discovery, production and document management. Most recently, Martha served as part of the discovery team for DuPont in its trade secret litigation against Kolon Industries. Martha also managed the review and production of all discovery in litigation surrounding an international recall of food products for a Fortune 500 company, as well as the related insurance coverage litigation.

Prior to joining McGuireWoods, Martha represented numerous entities in a variety of commercial litigation and insurance coverage matters in Virginia.
