Martin F. Conniff

Martin F. Conniff is a partner in Morgan Lewis's Business and Finance Practice. Mr. Conniff represents leading international companies and their U.S. affiliates in the container shipping, marine container terminal, shipbuilding, and oil and gas sectors, as well as international banks lending to the maritime industry. His practice includes complex cross-border mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and financing transactions, frequently involving citizenship, national security, and other regulatory considerations relating to foreign investment in the U.S. He advises clients on a wide range of issues encountered by maritime industry participants, including government investigations and disputes under charter parties and shipbuilding contracts. With more than four decades of practice, Mr. Conniff has represented both borrowers and lenders in numerous maritime finance restructurings.

Before joining the firm in 1994, Mr. Conniff was a partner at the New York firm of Lord Day & Lord, Barrett Smith. While at Lord Day, he managed that firm's London office from 1983 to 1989.

Mr. Conniff is admitted to practice in New York and is a Registered Foreign Lawyer with the UK Solicitors Regulation Authority.
