Martin Ween has practiced at Wilson Elser for nearly 40 years. His primary focus is the representation of professional liability insurance carriers in all types of coverage and liability matters. Through his considerable work with Lloyd’s throughout his career, Marty has extensive experience and familiarity with the London insurance market and has developed close alliances with various Lloyd’s syndicates and brokers.
For both London and domestic carriers, Marty has primary responsibility for managing, handling and defending claims and litigation brought under insurance programs covering a broad range of professionals, including architects and engineers, insurance agents and brokers, benefit plan trustees, mortgage brokers, translators, industrial hygienists, environmental consultants, telephone answering services and labor unions. His practice also encompasses writing insurance policies, preparing endorsements, and assisting and counseling insurers with respect to coverage and underwriting issues.
Marty has particular experience with architects and engineers liability and has worked on one of Lloyd’s longest-running programs in this area throughout his tenure with the firm. He also has significant experience in ERISA, having managed programs for 30 years covering trustees and fiduciaries of employee benefit plans, including involvement in many of the seminal cases in the area. Marty has been involved with transactional matters in the architects/engineers and ERISA fields as well.
