Mary Beth Forshaw is a Partner in Simpson Thacher’s Litigation Department and a member of the Firm's Executive Committee. She represents clients in a range of commercial litigation matters, particularly in the areas of insurance, reinsurance, bankruptcy and international arbitration.

Mary Beth was recently recognized by Euromoney's Benchmark Litigation as one of the “Top 250 Women in Litigation in America.” In addition, Mary Beth is consistently recognized by Benchmark Litigation, The Best Lawyers in America, Legal 500, and Euromoney’s Guide to the World’s Leading Insurance and Reinsurance Lawyers, as a leader in her field.

Mary Beth received her B.A., magna cum laude, from Barnard College, Columbia University, where she was elected Phi Beta Kappa and her J.D. from Yale Law School, where she was a member of the Yale Law & Policy Review and Director of the Jerome N. Frank Legal Services Project. Mary Beth serves as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Legal Action Center, on the Board of Directors of the City Bar Fund and the Yale Law School Fund, and on the Athena Center Leadership Council at Barnard College.
