Matt Martinez is an attorney in the firm’s Corporate group. His practice focuses on mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, general contracts and commercial transactions. Matt has significant experience in the oil and gas industry, working on a wide variety of matters, including purchase and sale agreements, joint operating agreements, farmout agreements, concession extensions, gas handling agreements, drilling contracts, master service agreements and seismic licenses.

Before joining Stoel Rives, Matt worked at Apache Corporation, serving as senior counsel. At Apache, Matt worked as an expatriate in both Argentina and Canada. While working in-house, Matt gained valuable insight into how to assist senior management in achieving their business objectives while also managing legal risks. Matt started his career as an associate at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP in Houston, Texas.
