Matthew Lindenbaum, a partner in Goodwin Procter's Securities Litigation & White Collar Defense Group, focuses his practice on defending companies in complex civil litigation, with an emphasis on class action cases and securities actions. Mr. Lindenbaum also defends financial institutions in government investigations and enforcement actions, and represents them in internal investigations.
Recognized in 2013 as a Massachusetts Super Lawyer “Rising Star,” Mr. Lindenbaum has extensive experience defending financial services companies in mortgage-related actions and investigations and has developed substantial knowledge of the mortgage loan origination, servicing and securitization businesses.
Mr. Lindenbaum currently represents mortgage lenders and servicers in class actions across the United States including in actions involving the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), state unfair and deceptive trade practices acts, and other common law claims. Mr. Lindenbaum also currently represents Countrywide Financial and its affiliates in a number of securities litigation matters.
