Matthew J. Urbanawiz

Matthew Urbanawiz is a senior associate practicing in the firm’s Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Matthew’s practice focuses on all aspects of intellectual property disputes, including patent and trademark litigation, licensing disputes and Internet-related disputes. Matthew’s experience includes district court and ITC patent litigation over diverse technologies, including wireless communications, mobile commerce, Internet advertising, trade show displays and protective packaging for the food industry. In addition to his patent litigation experience, Matthew also has experience in advising clients regarding patent and trademark portfolio management and enforcement, as well as litigation against anonymous Internet users.

Matthew received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Brigham Young University School of Law in 2002, where he was a staff editor for the BYU Law Review. Matthew also received his B.S. in chemical engineering, with highest honors, from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. While at Georgia Tech, Matthew worked at a pharmaceutical plant in southern Georgia and for an Atlanta-based chemical engineering design firm specializing in ultra-pure separations systems.
