Matt Kuryla’s broad-based environmental practice encompasses regulatory counseling, transactional advice, litigation and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Kuryla represents clients before state and federal courts in a variety of environmental actions. He has coordinated multiclient litigation and regulatory negotiation and rulemaking as counsel to the BCCA Appeal Group, the Texas Industry Project and several other industry coalitions formed to respond to emerging air quality requirements, including the Houston/Galveston ozone plan and the Texas flexible permits program.

Mr. Kuryla has handled federal and state agency proceedings under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Clean Air Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), the Clean Water Act and other environmental laws. He has counseled and represented clients in environmental criminal investigations, explosions, releases and other corporate crises.
