Matthew Hoffman is a partner in Goodwin Procter’s Patent Litigation, Appellate Litigation and Business Litigation Practices. His current practice focuses on intellectual property litigation with an emphasis on complex damages issues in patent cases. Mr. Hoffman is also an experienced appellate litigator with substantial experience in a wide range of areas, including legal malpractice, administrative law, environmental law, securities law, products liability, insurance coverage and other complex business disputes. He has litigated in federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate level throughout the country.

Mr. Hoffman also maintains an active pro bono practice that includes representation of leading civil rights organizations on voting rights issues in cases before the U.S. Supreme Court and representation of indigent criminal defendants on appeal.
