Meghan E. Griffiths

Meghan Griffiths is an energy lawyer who represents clients in regulatory matters, litigation, and commercial transactions involving the electric power industry. Her clients span all sectors of the power industry, including owners of conventional and renewable generation, electric utilities, utility investors, retail electric providers, and large consumers.

In litigation, she represents clients in energy disputes and litigation, and acts as lead counsel in contested cases and administrative appeals involving the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).

In commercial matters, she advises clients with electric regulatory considerations related to project development and finance, mergers and acquisitions, interconnection, and power supply. In wholesale power market matters, she counsels clients on Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), Southwest Power Pool (SPP), and Midcontinent Independent System Operator (MISO) rules and protocols.

Meghan also has broad administrative law experience, advising clients on open government, open records, and government contracting matters. She has represented clients in enforcement, licensing, contested cases, and rulemakings at a variety of state and federal agencies, including the Texas State Office of Administrative Hearings, the PUCT, the Texas Railroad Commission, the Texas General Land Office, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, the Texas Racing Commission, the Texas Education Agency, the Texas Attorney General’s Office, the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, the Texas Alcohol and Beverage Commission, the Texas Department of Insurance, the Florida Public Service Commission, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, and the Department of Treasury, Alcohol, Tobacco, Tax and Trade Bureau.
