Michael B. Wakefield

Michael Wakefield

is an associate in the firm’s Business Litigation practice group. His practice involves representing clients in complex commercial disputes, including ERISA and employee-benefits litigation, securities litigation, securities-related insurance recovery matters, and contract disputes. Mr. Wakefield also advises clients on legal issues relating to insurance coverage, contractual liability, and fiduciary responsibilities.

Before joining King & Spalding, Mr. Wakefield served as a law clerk for the Honorable Rhesa H. Barksdale on the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Mr. Wakefield graduated, with high honors, from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. While in law school, Mr. Wakefield was Managing Editor of the Texas International Law Journal. He received his B.A. in English, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from the University of Mississippi, where he lettered on the school’s varsity baseball team.

Mr. Wakefield currently serves as a member of the board of directors of the Georgia Asylum and Immigration Network.
