Michael Rupe

is a partner in King & Spalding’s Financial Restructuring Practice Group.

Mr. Rupe specializes in representing senior, secured lenders, as agents and as participants, in addition to subordinated and mezzanine lenders, in all aspects of in-court and out-of-court workout and restructuring matters, including DIP financing, exit financing, and cash collateral matters. Mr. Rupe also is well-versed in state and federal court receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, judicial and non-judicial foreclosures, and UCC sales. Mr. Rupe also represents borrowers/debtors and venture capital concerns and their portfolio companies in various distressed situations. Mr. Rupe’s workout and restructuring experience spans a number of industries, including commercial real estate, transportation, automotive, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, media, hospitality, retail, distribution finance, and franchise finance.

Mr. Rupe received his B.A. from The Ohio State University and earned his J.D. degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. He also served as a judicial extern to the Honorable R. Guy Cole, U.S. Court of Appeals, Sixth Circuit. Mr. Rupe is admitted to practice in New York, Illinois (inactive status), and Ohio (inactive status).
