Michael H. Ginsberg

Mike Ginsberg is a trial lawyer who concentrates his practice on the representation of policyholders in disputes with insurance companies regarding coverage for product and environmental liabilities, toxic torts, and bad faith. He advises clients on the insurance aspects of corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and bankruptcies. Mike's practice also involves the trial of environmental claims and commercial disputes. In addition, he assists clients with the evaluation and management of asbestos liabilities.

Mike served as insurance counsel for Cooper Industries in the Dresser and Federal Mogul bankruptcies and as insurance counsel in a variety of other bankruptcy matters, including Chrysler and USG. In addition to Cooper, Mike litigated insurance coverage issues for PCS, Elliott Company, Beazer, Cameron, Joy, Lincoln Electric, McGraw-Edison, Penn Fuel Gas, Tyco, and Weir Group, among others.

Mike chairs the Firm's Lawyer Training Committee and serves as chair of the board of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy (NITA) for whom he frequently serves as a program director (Pittsburgh Regional Trial Program), team leader (National Program), and teacher. Mike has traveled to Kenya on multiple occasions as a member of a teaching delegation to teach trial skills to Kenyan lawyers in a program sponsored by Lawyers Without Borders, NITA, and Jones Day, and has taught trial skills programs in Japan, Ireland, and Scotland. Mike has taught and been a team leader in Emory Law School's Trial Techniques Program. He serves as president of the board of the Pittsburgh Public Theater and serves on the board of the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust.
