Michael R. Meyers

is a senior partner in the Energy and Infrastructure Group in the New York office. He has more than 30 years experience in the energy and infrastructure industries, acting as counsel to developers and financiers of projects in the United States and worldwide. In addition, he has frequently represented buyers and sellers of projects, as well as parties in the restructurings of projects.

In the energy arena, in recent years Mr. Meyers has been most involved in renewable energy, with a focus on wind and solar both in the United States and internationally. He also has significant experience in gas-fired electric generating projects. While Mr. Meyers devotes most of his time to activities in the energy industries, his broad corporate and finance experience has led to his involvement in a range of corporate and financing transactions in other industries.

Mr. Meyers’ recent significant projects in the energy arena include:

Advising on the equity investment in a 42 MW wind farm in Uruguay.
Advising a Japanese strategic investor on its entry into the U.S. distributed solar market as a financing party, contractor and operator.
Advising with respect to development and financing of renewable projects in Japan under the Japanese Feed-in-Tariff.
Advising a development lender with respect to loans and equity investments in waste-to-energy projects in the Puerto Rico and the United States.
Advising on the development and US$240 million project financing of the 45 MW Avenal solar power project in Kings County, California (Deal of the Year).
Representing sponsors and investors in a range of projects across the globe including in locations such as Greece, Spain, UK, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Indonesia and Guam, among others.
Representation of buyers and sellers in renewable energy power purchase agreements.
Representation of the strategic purchaser of a wind energy project developer and operator.
