Mike has a nationwide labor and employment law practice. He counsels companies on how to avoid employment disputes and helps them to efficiently and effectively resolve litigation and other disputes when they arise. Mike has defended clients in more than 40 states and 60 federal district courts in cases brought under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, ERISA, and other state and federal employment statutes. He has also represented employers in class and collective actions involving the Fair Labor Standards Act and state wage payment laws and in arbitrations of grievances under collective bargaining agreements. Mike is also an experienced commercial litigator. He has advised corporations and individuals in breach of contract, trade secret, restrictive employment covenant, fraud, negligence, professional liability and other commercial matters. He has tried numerous cases to verdict in jury, non-jury and arbitration settings.

Although his practice spans numerous industries, Mike has particular expertise in the staffing industry, where he has represented industry members, both large and small.

At the University of Michigan Law School, Mike was honored with the ABA John Brown Award for the top Law Review Note.
