Mr. Rodgers is a partner in the Real Estate Group. Mike also leads the firm’s Residential and Resort Development practice. He represents developers, investors and lenders who participate in residential, resort and mixed-use properties throughout the United States, and he has extensive experience in real estate development and community association law. His practice also includes landlord-tenant law, including drafting and negotiating leases with respect to commercial components of mixed-use properties; commercial lending, including borrower and lender representation in connection with real estate acquisition, development and construction loans; and, corporate law, with a focus on charitable and nonprofit organizations.

Mike also oversees a team of Seyfarth Shaw attorneys and paralegals who advise a major U.S. bank with its acquisition, administration and disposition of foreclosed residential and mixed-use properties in Georgia and Texas. His team of attorneys work to identify assets associated with each project, counsel on inherited obligations such as zoning entitlements and commercial leases, and provide for the successful transfer of control and operation of community associations and related community governance systems.

Mike frequently writes and lectures on real estate matters and he has served as an Adjunct Law Professor at the University of Georgia School of Law where he has taught courses on community association law. He presently is drafting a legal treatise entitled Mixed Use Real Estate: Legal Fundamentals and Best Practices. Previously, he served as the Assistant Editor for a law school casebook entitled Community Association Law: Cases and Materials on Common Interest Communities (Carolina Academic Press 1998).
