Mike Edsall

is a senior partner in Kirkland's corporate practice, resident in the Firm's New York office. Mike concentrates on the financial sponsor industry and for more than two decades has represented numerous private equity and mezzanine firms in connection with their investment and capital-raising activities.

Mike has extensive experience in leveraged buyout, recapitalization, growth equity and mezzanine finance transactions. Mike has represented clients in acquisitions and divestitures across a wide range of industries, in taxable and tax-free transactions, public-to-private transactions, acquisitions and divestitures under bankruptcy court supervision and cross-border transactions. Mike has also represented a number of fund sponsors in developing, structuring and negotiating private equity, mezzanine, venture capital, opportunity and other funds, has represented numerous fund portfolio companies in their investment and capital-raising activities, and provided counseling and assistance on various administrative and regulatory matters that fund sponsors regularly confront.

Mike has been a partner since 1993 and has served on a number of the Firm's committees, including the firm-wide finance, technology, real estate, budget and business development committees, and the New York office operations, corporate practice management and technology committees.
