Michael T. Maroney is a partner in Holland & Knight's Boston office and a member of the firm's Litigation Section. Mr. Maroney has handled numerous matters in Massachusetts and other states involving contract disputes, business torts, toxic and mass torts, product liability, insurance coverage, real estate, and environmental litigation, with a particular focus on the transportation, energy and insurance industries. He is a trial lawyer with extensive experience in all phases of the litigation process, and he has successfully represented clients in the prosecution and defense of claims in both federal and state trial courts and courts of appeals. He also has successfully represented clients in the negotiated resolution, mediation and arbitration of major commercial disputes. In addition to managing active litigation matters, Mr. Maroney frequently provides counseling to clients on the legal implications of proposed transactions.

Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Mr. Maroney was an associate in the litigation department of Carter, Ledyard & Milburn in New York City. He also served as a law clerk to United States District Judge George A. O'Toole, Jr., of the District of Massachusetts, and worked as a Grants Program Manager for the United States Department of Justice.

In the community, Mr. Maroney serves as Chair of the Judicial Administration Section Council of the Massachusetts Bar Association, and he enjoys coaching youth lacrosse in his spare time.
