Minh Day

is a senior associate in Orrick's Energy and Infrastructure Group. Mr. Day's practice focuses on the representation of sponsors, lenders and other participants in corporate and project finance transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors. These transactions have included the development, financing and acquisition of power projects and other infrastructure assets and the preparation and negotiation of related financing and project agreements.

Mr. Day also has experience working on energy projects in Southeast Asia, including the development and financing of projects in Vietnam and Thailand.

Recent representative transactions include advising on the following.

A private equity fund in development loans to a sponsor of waste-to-energy projects, and the acquisition of an interest in the waste-to-energy power projects.
A Vietnamese independent power producer in the negotiation of an engineering, procurement and construction contract for the development and construction of a 600 MW coal-fired facility located in Vietnam.
U.S. utilities in power solicitations for long-term electric power supply and the resulting power purchase transactions, including firming and shaping arrangements.
A large renewable energy developer in the acquisition of wind generation facilities, including development stage assets.
The mandated lead arrangers for the financing of the acquisition and operation of the largest portfolio of FBO airport facilities in the United States.
