Mitchell R. Schrage is the firm's Managing Partner of Operations. He has more than 30 years of experience as a trial lawyer - in both federal and state courts - amassing a wide base of both local and international clients. His clients include numerous public and private corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and high net worth individuals in various industries including advertising, public relations, cosmetics, real estate, financial services, wealth management, chemicals, construction, real estate investment, technology and art. For example, Mitchell has represented such clients as the Ritz Paris Hotel, Harrods, Estée Lauder Inc., Young & Rubicam, Burson Marsteller, Wunderman Cato Johnson, DCD Capital LLC, Atlantic Bank of New York, Parlux Fragrances, PR 21 and Edelman Public Relations.
Mitchell's diverse practice involves commercial litigation, licensing and intellectual property litigation, and pharmaceutical mass torts. Mitchell has represented one of the largest corporations in Mexico in a $1.5 billion dispute with eight banks on the structure and marketing of a complex financial instrument. In addition to litigation, Mitchell also has a transactional practice involving real estate, corporate representation, and leasing.
For many years, Mitchell served on the Board of Directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, as well as on their judiciary board that assisted in evaluating the fitness and qualification of state judges and prospective judges in New York State. Mitchell has also lectured on numerous occasions regarding issues related to the civil justice system. In addition to public speaking engagements, Mitchell has also been an on-camera consultant - both locally and nationally - to ABC News regarding real estate issues, on BBC commenting during the first Vioxx trial, as well as to Fox News on the subject of the civil justice system. Mitchell has also been quoted in The New York Times, Crain's New York Business and Advertising Age. For 20 consecutive years, Mitchell has been awarded an AV Rating – the highest peer review rating – by Martindale Hubbell for his legal ability and ethical standards. Mitchell has also been recognized as a “Legal Elite” by Avenue Magazine in the areas of litigation and real estate.
From 1980-2000, Mitchell was a partner at Issler & Schrage, PLLC. From 2000-2006, Mitchell was the sole equity partner at Mitchell Schrage & Associates, PLLC, before joining Kasowitz in 2006.
