Monique R. Sherman is the firm's Pro Bono Resource Attorney. She rejoined the Firm in 2012 and is resident in the Palo Alto office.

Ms. Sherman maintains and develops the Firm's pro bono resources to ensure the Firm's attorneys have the tools necessary to most effectively represent their pro bono clients. She provides technical assistance to attorneys throughout the firm on pro bono matters, in addition to serving on the team for a number of pro bono matters herself. Ms. Sherman also assists in the development and administration of the Firm's Pro Bono practice.

Prior to rejoining the Firm, Ms. Sherman represented abused and neglected children in child welfare proceedings as a Child Advocate Attorney at the Defender Association of Philadelphia. She regularly appeared for her clients in contested juvenile court hearings involving child abuse and neglect, termination of parental rights, adoption, special education, and mental health. Ms. Sherman also has experience in landlord/tenant litigation, domestic violence advocacy, public benefits, and impact litigation. She has previously worked at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, the Washington Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights, and the Children's Defense Fund. From 2003-2006, Ms. Sherman was an associate in Cooley's Litigation Department, where her practice focused on general civil litigation matters.

Ms. Sherman received a J.D., cum laude, from the Georgetown University Law Center in 2003, where she was a member of the Georgetown Immigration Law Journal. She received a B.A. in Political Science from Stanford University in 1999.
