Mutya F. Harsch

Mutya Fonte Harsch is a special counsel in the mergers and acquisitions practice group. She joined the firm in 2015 in the New York office. Mutya advises on new and current issues in public and private M&A and corporate governance, including board fiduciary duties, takeover preparedness, activism and market trends.

Mutya is also responsible for leveraging the firm's resources and legal technology to facilitate efficient deal flow and knowledge sharing on M&A matters.

Prior to joining Cooley, Mutya was a member of the mergers & acquisitions group at Davis Polk & Wardwell, where she advised on public and private M&A and served as the group's practice resources lawyer. She has published a number of articles and commentary on issues in M&A and received the Burton Award for legal writing. She also served as an assistant general counsel at Warner Chilcott PLC.

Mutya attended the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) where she received her JD in 1998. She received her BA in political science from the University of California at Berkeley in 1995 where she graduated with high honors, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and a founding member of the ACLU's student chapter.

Mutya is admitted to practice in New York and California.
