Nicholas B. Lewis

Nick focuses his practice on securities enforcement and white collar criminal defense. He has represented financial institutions, corporations, auditors, and individuals under investigation by government entities, including the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board, the Department of Justice, and the Department of Treasury. He also has experience conducting internal investigations, including investigations related to complex structured finance products as well as investigations conducted overseas. In addition, he has represented corporations and individuals in securities litigation and in all phases of complex commercial litigation.

Before joining the firm, Nick served as a law clerk to the Chief Judge of the District of Columbia Court of Appeals where he analyzed novel legal issues in all areas of the law and helped draft appellate opinions. He has since served as a resource within the firm on District of Columbia appellate procedure.

While earning his Master of Science in Law and Finance at the University of Oxford, Nick received the MLF Prize for Best Performance in Finance I and the St Anne’s College Ruth Deech Prize for outstanding performance in the MLF program. He was a Mussey-Gillett fellow and practiced in the Civil Practice Clinic and Intellectual Property Law Clinic at American University. As an undergraduate, he received the John A. Vieg Prize, given to the Outstanding Senior Politics Major, and the Senior Service Prize.
