Nick Beermann is a Partner in the Seattle office. He practices in all areas of employment and labor law with emphasis in employment contracting and dispute resolution, corporate governance and internal investigations, and privacy law.

In addition to frequently counseling and defending clients regarding all types of discrimination claims, Nick regularly represents clients in the contexts of trade secret and non-competition advice and litigation, ERISA litigation, OSHA investigations and charge resolution, business entity disputes, WARN advice, wage and hour compliance and litigation and union organizing advice and arbitration.

In 2008 and 2009, Nick worked in-house for a multi-national financial corporation in Tokyo, Japan and regularly represents multi-national and foreign companies doing or seeking to do business in the U.S., or clients facing Dodd-Frank/Sarbanes-Oxley issues. He also has a background in healthcare and corporate law and has represented a number of healthcare entities in transactional and litigation contexts, including with regard to the False Claims Act, the Anti-Kickback Act, Medicare fraud and Stark Law concerns.

As a Certified Information Privacy Professional, Nick's work also includes HIPAA’s privacy and security regulation compliance advice; drafting and maintaining HIPAA-compliant and other privacy policies; advising clients on data privacy and security mandates at the state, federal and international level; advising clients about and drafting social media and electronic communication policies; training clients in the areas of employee privacy; and prosecuting and obtaining injunctive relief on behalf of clients whose employees have appropriated company trade secrets.
