Nicholas Lagerwall is an associate and intellectual property lawyer with Foley & Lardner LLP. Mr. Lagerwall has significant patent prosecution experience in the areas of wireless and wired communications, computer software, optical networks, optical imaging, including optical coherence tomography, and semiconductor devices and fabrication. In addition, he has significant experience in reissue and post-grant proceedings. He is a member of the firm’s Electronics Practice.

Mr. Lagerwall’s technical experience includes work as a regional facilities electrical engineer for Aerotek Engineering at General Motors Janesville Assembly Plant. In this role, he designed and maintained communication systems, emergency lighting systems, fire suppression systems and power transmission systems. He also managed various construction and maintenance projects throughout the plant and grounds.

Previously, Mr. Lagerwall was a summer associate for Foley & Lardner LLP and Quarles & Brady LLP. He also served as a law clerk at The Medical College of Wisconsin, where he drafted and reviewed software licenses, provider agreements and service agreements and drafted trademark applications.
