Nicole Gates is a member of the firm’s Technology, Entrepreneurial & Commercial Practice. Ms. Gates assists with commercial transactions and related corporate matters for a variety of clients and has experience drafting media-related business agreements. Her practice also includes work in franchise and distribution law.

Ms. Gates graduated from the University of Southern California Gould School of Law, where she was a member of the Hale Moot Court Honors Program, a Peer Mentor, and Faculty Selection Committee Chair for the Student Bar Association. While in law school, Ms. Gates focused her coursework on intellectual property law. She was also a graduate student fellow at the USC Center for Law, History & Culture, and participated in workshops, book talks, conferences, and symposia sponsored by the center. In addition, she was selected for USC Law’s summer fellowship program, and worked as a law clerk in the Office of the General Counsel at USC and as a summer associate at another international law firm in Los Angeles.

Prior to attending law school, Ms. Gates received her bachelor’s in art history from the University of Virginia. While pursuing her degree, she assisted with collections management and restoration at the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection, which houses one of the finest Indigenous Australian art collections in the world.

Ms. Gates was also a summer associate in the firm’s Los Angeles office.
